Install on Windows
Run the Cadence installer on Windows, get past the first-run SmartScreen notice, and open the app.
The Windows build of Cadence ships as a normal installer. Run it, and Cadence is ready in a moment. The only thing worth knowing about is a one-time SmartScreen notice on first run.
- Download the installerOpen the downloads page and choose the Windows build. You will get an installer (an
.exefile) served from our releases. - Run itOpen the downloaded installer and follow the prompts. It places Cadence in your apps and adds a Start menu entry.
- Open CadenceLaunch Cadence from the Start menu. There is no extra permission to grant on Windows -- it can read window titles out of the box.
If Windows SmartScreen warns you
On a fresh download SmartScreen may show a “Windows protected your PC” notice the first time you run the installer. That is the standard warning for newer downloads, not a sign anything is wrong. Choose “More info”, then “Run anyway” to continue.
With the app installed, sign in and your tracking begins.
