Reports and exports

View your totals by client and project, export them as CSV or XLSX, and hand them straight to finance.

A report is your tracked time added up the way you bill: totals by client and project over a period. When you need those numbers somewhere else (a spreadsheet, an invoice, your finance team) you export them, and there is no re-keying involved.

Viewing your totals

Cadence rolls your time entries up into totals by client and project over whatever period you choose (a week, a month, or a custom range). Because the grouping is already in place, the totals you see are the totals you bill, with no adding up by hand.

Exporting as CSV or XLSX

When you want the figures outside Cadence, export them. CSV gives you a plain table that drops into almost anything; XLSX gives you a ready-to-open spreadsheet. Both carry the same grouped totals, so finance gets the work split by client and project rather than a raw dump.

  • CSV: a plain table for importing into other tools or accounting systems.
  • XLSX: a spreadsheet ready to open, sort, and tidy in Excel or Sheets.
Pick the period before you export
Set the date range you actually want to bill for (usually the month) before exporting. The file then matches your invoicing period exactly, with nothing to trim afterwards.

Handing it to finance

Because entries are reviewed and grouped the way you bill, the export you hand over is close to invoice-ready. Finance get clean totals per client and project, can see the notes where work needs explaining, and can raise invoices without coming back to ask what an entry was for.

Exports come from the app
Reports and exports live in the desktop app, alongside your tracking. The website is for downloads and plan status: there is no separate web dashboard, so you never have to leave the app to get your numbers out.

That closes the loop: track quietly through the day, review your entries, and export clean totals when it is time to bill.
