What is Cadence?
Cadence is a native desktop time tracker that turns your working day into clean, billable time entries. Here is how the pieces fit together.
Cadence keeps a quiet, accurate record of your working day and turns it into clean, billable time entries. There is nothing to remember to start, and nothing watching over your shoulder. You work, and the hours take care of themselves.
Cadence has two parts that do different jobs. Knowing which is which makes everything else in these docs easier to follow.
The desktop app is where the work happens
The native app for macOS and Windows is the heart of Cadence. It records activity on your own machine as it happens, shows you what you are tracking right now, and turns the day into time entries grouped by client and project. Day-to-day, this is the only part of Cadence you touch.
The website is for downloads and plan status
This website is where you download the app and view your plan status. Account creation, sign-in, and organisation setup all happen inside the desktop app. It is not a place you log into every day: there is no web dashboard. Once you are set up, you live in the desktop app. Billing and subscription management happen in the desktop app too.
What you get
- A real desktop tracker that records work without screenshots or surveillance.
- Time entries grouped by client and project, ready to bill without re-keying.
- Optional calendar and task-tool connections that fill in context automatically.
- Team roles, an exception inbox, and an owner view of the whole organisation.
- Strong per-organisation data isolation, so one team can never see another.
