Sync and integrations

Calendar data not showing up? Check the connection, reconnect, and allow for the normal sync delay.

Cadence records your tracking locally first and syncs in the background, and your calendar connects through your own authorisation. When data is not appearing, it is usually a connection that needs reconnecting, or simply a short delay.

A short sync delay is normal

Tracking is captured on your machine the moment it happens, then synced up shortly after. A brief gap between doing the work and seeing it reflected everywhere is expected, not a fault. Give it a minute or two before assuming something is wrong.

Tip
If recent activity has not appeared yet, wait a moment and check again before reconnecting anything. Most of the time the sync simply has not caught up.

Calendar events are not appearing

Your calendar connects through a private iCal (ICS) link you pasted into Settings, then the Integrations tab, in the Calendar card. If meetings stop showing up, the link itself is almost always the cause.

  1. Try Sync now
In the Calendar card, click Sync now and wait a moment. Calendars refresh on a schedule, so this just pulls the latest straight away.
  2. Check the link still works
If the calendar at your provider was un-shared, un-published, or its link was reset, the old link stops returning events. Go back to your provider and copy a fresh link.
  3. Paste the fresh link
Remove the old link in the Calendar card and paste the new one, then click Connect again.
“Calendar server returned 404” on a Google link
This almost always means you copied Google’s Public address in iCal format (the link with /public/in it) for a calendar that is not shared publicly — Google returns a 404 for it. Use the Secret address in iCal format instead (the link with /private- in it), which works on a private calendar. See Google Calendar for the exact steps.

For how to copy a fresh link from each provider, see Google Calendar, Outlook, or Apple iCloud.

If a connection reconnects cleanly but the right data still does not appear, confirm you are looking at the correct account on the provider’s side, and that the events you expect actually fall in the period Cadence is showing.
