The Today panel
The sidebar's at-a-glance summary: your meetings against your working hours, the tasks you have tracked time against, and the working hours that shape it.
The Today panel is the summary pinned to the bottom of your sidebar. It shows how much of your working day is meetings, and which tasks you have tracked time against, so you can read your day in a single glance without opening anything.
It lives in the desktop app's sidebar, so it is always visible while you work. When you collapse the sidebar it shrinks to a single ring you can hover to expand (see below).
What you see
Two things: a Meetings bar and a Tracked task list. The Meetings bar shows your meeting time against your working hours for the day. The Tracked list shows the tasks you have recorded time against, biggest first. Both update as your day goes on.
The Meetings bar
A progress bar comparing your meeting hours to your working window. The value reads as “1h / 8h”, meaning one hour of meetings out of an eight-hour working day. It fills as meetings accumulate.
The Tracked task list
Below the Meetings bar, a list of the tasks you have tracked time against today, sorted by time spent, largest first. Each row shows the task name and its duration, with a faint bar behind it showing its share of your tracked day. The header shows the total task count, so you always know how many tasks make up the day even when only the top few are shown.
To keep the panel compact, the list shows your top five tasks. If you have more, a toggle at the bottom reads “+N more tasks” and expands to show the rest. Click “Show less” to collapse it again.
Working hours and break
The Meetings bar is measured against your working window: the time between your start and end, minus your break. The default of 08:30 to 17:30 with a 60-minute break gives an eight-hour day. Adjust these in Settings > Tracking, or during first-run setup.
- Start and end: your working hours for a normal day.
- Break (min): unpaid break time subtracted from the window. Default 60.
- Workdays: which days you work. On a non-working day the panel shows “Not a working day” but still renders the bar and list.
Collapsed sidebar
When you collapse the sidebar to its narrow width, the panel shrinks to a single Meetings ring. The ring fills to show how much of your working day is meetings, with the hour figure in the centre. Hover it to open a flyout containing the full Meetings bar and Tracked list.
The Today panel is one way to glance at your day. For the full grouped entries you can review and bill, see time entries.
